From Ableton Live to Push 2 Guitar Performance

A look into how I performed one of my latest singles, 'Sunrise', using only the Ableton Push 2, an Acoustic guitar and a shaker.

It began with breaking down the studio version and removing as many tracks as possible whilst still maintaining the core vibe. Then understanding how I was going to structure this version, knowing it would have to ‘grow’ as I built upon the previous sound/riff. After experimenting with how I was going to make the ‘drop’ (bring the bass into the second section), I settled on using simple filter sweeping to emphasize bringing the low end in. This is what I was using the Kontrol F1 for in the video. Then came lots of practice to dial in the timings.
