Each hit is recorded using 3 different mics.

MAIN for the transients (these are snappier and 'cleaner').

THUD for the low end more (like micing a kick drum)

ROOM for the ambient of the hits and their natural reverb in the space.

Both the Ableton & Kontakt version of this kit is designed for you to be able to 'mix' these mics together to create a sound. Combine this with EQ and transpose and it becomes a versatile sound design kit.
